Inspiron by Entrepreneur

Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Centre organized a motivational session called “Inspiron” led by Mr. Mohit Bahl who is Director of Makershala and Technoplanet Labs. Mr. Mohit started the session by interacting with students about their backgrounds, interests, projects and knowledge about start-ups.

He asked the students where they saw their career going in the future. Then he expounded on a way to figure out how to decide on what to do. He took inspiration from the famous concept on IKIGAI explained in the book ‘Ikigai’ by Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles.

He familiarized the students with the four circles of:

  • What you love
  • What the world needs
  • What you’re good at
  • What you can be paid for

Ikigai was where all these four spheres intersect. He also elaborated about the concepts of Passion, Mission, Vocation and Profession in one’s life. He guided students on what to look for when they start their journey. He also described a personal technique he uses and called it the ‘Funnel Technique’ or ‘Filtration Approach’ where he encouraged the students to actively take up any and all activities they are interested in at present and given them sufficient time so that down the line they would be able to prioritize and choose what they love as well as are good at and if that coincides with what the world needs, they would have attained Ikigai meaning the purpose of life.

He then interacted with students based on their current interests and concluded the session with the motivating message that an ‘Entrepreneur’ works not just for one person or one enterprise but hundreds and thousands of people whose life will be impacted by the entrepreneur. The students were encouraged by his outlook and were appreciative of this new technique to find a direction in life in a world full of chaos and multiple options. He was felicitated by Dr. Umesh Dutta, Director, MRIIC.
