National Startup Day

Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Centre celebrated National Startup Day on 16th January 2023. Dr. Ashwini Kumar, Director, Applied Materials gave an interactive and inspiring talk to the students to encourage entrepreneurship, innovation and creativity.

He started with a few anecdotes of startups known to him and gave an overview of the journey they went through along with the hardships and struggles faced by them. Dr. Ashwini stressed on being innovative and resilient as the primary qualities of any startup founder.

He appreciated India achieving the rank 40 (from earlier 81) in Global Innovation Index. He also informed about the Startup Innovation Week organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Department for Promotion of Industry and Trade (DPIIT).

He emphasized the great scope and support to the startup ecosystem that exists in India for a startup backed by a sound innovation and a good business plan. He also focused on the utility of networking events, panel discussions, and workshops to connect with each other, share ideas, and learn from experts in various fields.

He encouraged future startups as they play a critical role in driving economic growth and creating jobs. Startups are often at the forefront of innovation, introducing new products and services that can transform industries and improve people’s lives. They also foster a culture of entrepreneurship, encouraging others to take risks and pursue their ideas.

Students were interested in learning all new things about startups and were motivated to work for new and innovative ideas to contribute actively to the human capital of the nation.
