On the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day on 14th December, 2022, Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Centre organized a motivational session led by Dr. Umesh Dutta (Director, MRIIC).
He welcomed the 1st Year students of different branches of Engineering and asked them about all the different electronics gadgets they are using these days. He questioned them on how the devices are powered and how they foresee the increasing use of these devices impacting energy requirements.
Dr. Dutta informed the students about India’s energy targets of an installed capacity of 450GW from renewable sources by 2030 and how solar energy is going to play a major role in fulfilling this requirement.
He informed about the 3KW plant on the rooftop of A Block, Manav Rachna International Institute of research and Studies under the Joint Initiative of Electronics Skill Sector Council of India, Manav Rachna and Applied Materials that powers one of the labs in A Block.
He informed students about how initiatives like these use less energy and reduce energy waste in order to preserve natural resources and reduce the negative impacts of energy consumption on the environment.
He emphasized that using less energy can reduce the amount of carbon emissions, improve energy security and save money on energy bills. He welcomed all interested students to come to the Centre of Excellence on Solar PV Skills and contribute in their own way towards energy conservation and energy security.
