National Science Day

Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Centre celebrated National Science Day on 28th February, 2023 in honour of Sir C. V. Raman’s discovery of the inelastic scattering of light called Raman Effect for which he won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. An inspiring talk was held led by Dr. Umesh Dutta (Director, MRIIC) to motivate students to observe, ideate and innovate to raise the nation’s intellectual capital.

Dr. Dutta informed the students about India’s scientists and how they work tirelessly and even unrecognized to further the efforts of science. He informed the students about the various scientific bodies of the government like ISRO, DRDO and DST and the different schemes they run to promote spirit of scientific enquiry among the students.

He also talked about the increasing trend of sci-fi movies which showcase technologies which were earlier impossible to achieve but now seem reachable. He encourage students to use all the tools of science available to them to reach out and utilise them to create innovations that are based on utility but also have a futuristic perspective.
