TOYCATHON 2021

Manav Rachna is hosting Toy Hackathon grand finale from June 22 to June 24 being organized by the Ministry of Education. Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies has been selected by AICTE for hosting Toycathon 2021 Grand Finale, an event conducted by Govt. of India to promote indigenous toy industry. The event is being organized jointly by Ministry of Education in coordination with five other Ministries viz: Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, and Ministry of Textiles. Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell at All India Council for Technical Education is acting as nodal agency for organizing Toycathon 2021.

 

The Toycathon 2021 began with inviting problem statements and finalizing top problem statements, identifying Nodal Centres, identifying evaluators, experts and dignitaries, months before the grand finale. Then the participation was invited from students and professionals. Around 14130 teams have submitted 17770 different ideas on innovative toys based on themes like Education, Indian History, Culture and Moral values, Social and Human values, Psychological Development, Agricultural Implements and Tools, and Knowledge about India.

The digital Toycathon has received a phenomenal response from enthusiastic innovators and now 1567 selected teams will be participating virtually through 85 Nodal Centres.

 

During the grand finale, the selected teams will virtually present their toys in front of Jury panel comprises of Experts from premier institutes. The teams will receive mentoring from experts during the hackathon and teams will have to improve their toys/games as per expert suggestions. MRIIRS Hosted India’s First Toy Hackathon: The Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi interacted with the finalists of Toycathon 2021 through video conferencing on June 24. Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies was the only University among 6 institutions chosen as a Nodal Centre for the Live interaction with our Hon’ble PM shri Narendra Modi. Manav Rachna was selected as a Nodal Centre by AICTE for hosting Toycathon 2021 Grand Finale organized jointly by the Ministry of Education in coordination with five other Ministries viz: Ministry of Women & Child Development, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Ministry of Textiles.

 

 Manav Rachna International institute of Research and Studies is glad to partner with Code Club and CoderDojo. Both of these initiatives are running successfully across the globe by Raspberry Pi Foundation (a registered UK charity). The aim of these programmes is to build coding talent in the community by conducting regular training programs on coding. MRIIRS partnered with Facebook Spark AR Lab for conducting a series of workshops on Augmented Reality using Spark AR Studio in the month of June 2021.
